We are happy to announce that our production Slave Island, directed by Jimmy Hendrickx and Jeremy Kewuan, is making its mark worldwide. The documentary explores modern slavery practices on Sumba Island, Indonesia.
Praised by critics, Asian Movie Pulse calls it “shocking in every one of its aspects.”. Kotzathanasis, a film critic and reviewer, commends directors for their compelling storytelling, noting how the film builds tension leading to an impactful climax. The editing by Raquel Ferreira and Hendrickx is praised for its effective pacing, while the cinematography captures both the personal stories and the island's landscape. The review emphasizes the film's success in presenting a shocking yet authentic portrayal of contemporary slavery.
With that being said, the film is set to have its long awaited premiere at the Movies That Matter Festival on March 22nd in The Hague.
